MK Architecture

The fabric of MKA is woven through Michael’s apprenticeships in luxury apartment design in Vienna, and commercial and architectural residential projects in Cape Town, including multi-storey offices, restaurants, mixed-use industrial, high-end homes and large scale residential developments.

Launched in 2008, MKA established a foothold in Estate Residential Architecture, while simultaneously venturing into lightweight building technologies, which eventually opened up opportunities in the hospitality industry supplying both design and accommodation solutions for the African safari market.

In the following years, Michael has been fortunate to work both locally and travel extensively in Africa to build a design portfolio ranging from signature lodge projects in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, and South Africa, to luxury residences in Franschhoek and Cape Town.

The design approach at MKA is one of a collaborative, it is one that sees everyone, from the client, the site, the brief, the budget, to fellow professionals as integral to the design decision making process. At MKA we facilitate the design of human space making in response to all project challenges and parameters and aim for the best possible end-user experience.
